Xradar Concrete Scanning - Radiant Heating Lines
GeoScan Subsurface Surveys was contracted by a contractor working on a house in Richmond, BC to locate radiant heating lines (RHLs) as well as conduit and other targets within the concrete slab.
The client was mostly concerned about the RHLs in the main entry hall as they were building a custom staircase and needed to anchor between five and six inches deep to support the staircase base plates. Due to a problem with the boiler the RHLs could not be located using thermal methods.
As such, the GeoScan technician had to trace out the RHLs, from their source, utilising X-Radar technology. After several hours of precise scanning all RHLs we marked out on slab, allowing the client to alter their designs to fit within the workable area.
